What type of cake can I use my edible icing topper on?
Our edible icing toppers can be used on a variety of cake finishes.
For the best and cleanest result, we recommend applying the topper to roll-out fondant icing. The smooth, dry surface helps the topper sit flat and keeps the printed image looking its best.
The topper can also be applied to set buttercream. Make sure the buttercream has crusted or set and the surface is as smooth as possible before applying your topper.
Avoid placing the topper directly onto very wet, freshly applied or overly soft buttercream, as excess moisture can cause the icing sheet to soften, wrinkle or affect the printed image.
How do I apply my edible icing topper?
For roll-out fondant, make sure the surface is clean, smooth and dry. If necessary, use a very small amount of water or edible glue to help the topper adhere. Avoid using too much moisture.
For buttercream, allow the buttercream to set or crust first and ensure the surface is as smooth as possible before carefully positioning the topper.
Once positioned, gently smooth the topper into place using clean, dry hands.
Can I personalise my order?
Yes. Many of our products can be personalised with names, ages, dates, photographs and special messages.
Please check all personalisation carefully before submitting your order, as we print the information provided by you.
Can I send my own photograph?
Yes. You can upload your own photograph for applicable personalised products.
For the best print quality, please send the clearest, highest-resolution original photograph available.
Blurry, dark, heavily cropped or low-resolution images may result in reduced print quality.
Can you edit my photograph?
Minor adjustments may be made where necessary to prepare your photograph for printing.
However, the finished print quality will depend on the quality and resolution of the original image supplied.
Will the colours look exactly like they do on my phone or computer?
There may be slight colour differences between what you see on your screen and the finished edible print.
Screens display colours differently, and edible inks and icing sheets can also produce slightly different results from a digital image.
How should I store my edible topper?
Keep your edible topper sealed in its original packaging in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight, heat and moisture until you are ready to use it.
Do not leave the topper exposed to the air unnecessarily.
Should I put my edible topper in the fridge?
We generally recommend not refrigerating the topper before application, as moisture and condensation can affect edible icing sheets and the printed image.
Keep it sealed in its packaging in a cool, dry place until required.
When should I put the topper on my cake?
For best results, we recommend applying your topper as close to your celebration as practical, particularly when using buttercream or other moist cake coverings.
Avoid excessive moisture and condensation once the topper has been applied.
Do you provide application instructions?
Yes. Where appropriate, instructions for applying and using your edible topper will be included with your order or made available on our website.

How quickly will my order be dispatched?
Our products are personalised and made to order, but we aim to prepare and dispatch orders as quickly as possible.

How long does delivery take?
Delivery times depend on your location and the delivery service selected at checkout.
Delivery timeframes are estimates unless we have expressly agreed a guaranteed delivery date.
We strongly recommend ordering well in advance of birthdays, weddings, communions and other important occasions.
I need my topper for a specific date. What should I do?
Please order as early as possible.
If your event is approaching quickly, contact us at info@thecakeprintstudio.ie before ordering and we can advise whether the timeframe is realistic.
Please note that entering an event date in your personalisation does not automatically guarantee delivery by that date.
Do you deliver outside Ireland?
Yes. We offer delivery throughout Ireland and to selected international destinations.
Available delivery options and charges will be displayed at checkout.
Is tracking included?
This depends on the delivery option you select at checkout.
Standard/untracked delivery does not include tracking. Where a tracked delivery service is available, you can select it at checkout.
What happens if my order doesn't arrive?
Please contact us at info@thecakeprintstudio.ie with your order number.
We will investigate the delivery and provide the appropriate assistance or remedy in accordance with your statutory consumer rights.
What if my order arrives damaged?
Please contact us as soon as possible at info@thecakeprintstudio.ie.
Include your order number, clear photographs of the damaged product and photographs of the packaging where applicable so we can investigate and resolve the issue.
What if there is a mistake on my topper?
If we have made an error, please contact us as soon as possible and we will resolve the issue.
If the topper was produced correctly using information supplied by you, such as an incorrectly entered name, age, date or message, we cannot normally provide a free replacement or refund.
Please check all personalisation carefully before placing your order.
Can I cancel or return a personalised order?
As personalised and made-to-order products are created specifically for you, they cannot normally be cancelled, returned or exchanged simply because you have changed your mind once production has begun.
This does not affect your statutory rights if your product is faulty, damaged, not as described or does not conform to your order.
